Scotia Capital unveils debt issue website
TORONTO November 2, 2000 Scotia Capital has launched ScotiaLive.com, a website for eligible institutional investors that provides them with comprehensive, up-to-the-minute information about new debt issues.
"With ScotiaLive.com, eligible institutional investors have fast and convenient access to the information they need to evaluate a new debt issue," says Scotia Capital's John Madden, Managing Director and Deputy Head, Capital Markets Group. "The site provides institutional investors with the necessary data to make informed decisions about debt issues and their respective debt issuers."
"With the click of a mouse, eligible investors can view a prospectus, register for a road show, or check the status of a provincial borrowing program," says Madden. "To date, approximately 200 investors, which represent the majority of Canada's institutional investors, are registered for ScotiaLive.com and the feedback we have received has been excellent."
ScotiaLive.com uses state-of-the-art security technology that requires an individual ID and password to access the site.
"The cyclical outlook for the Euro area currently seems to be more auspicious than at any time in the past ten years," said Tietmeyer. "This, however, is not enough. Europe needs a lasting and more job-creating recovery. Therefore, structural reforms in most countries are urgently needed."
